During the big Cyber Monday sale this year, I picked up a version of Sketchbook Pro. While messing around in there, I discovered that it had a symmetry view for the x and y. This is what I ended up making.
I have been messing around with colour lately and playing some awesome new video games and my favorite thing is to look at the art and figure out how they come up with some of the colour pallets and designs. So heres my take on some weapon sets for an area, an example of the landscape and some creatures that might live there.
Ive been working on the Sketchbook Project and finally figured out what Im going to do for my topic 'Time Traveller' and decided to go though different art styles that I dont particulary work in. So far Ive done some Art Nouvaeu and now am doing a few that look like Illuminated Texts. On the right is the sketch I scanned from my book, and the left one I painted in Photoshop.
So Ive been reading through the Game of Thrones books so that I could follow the series more accurately knowing the backstory. I found an amazing shot of Daenerys with a horse. The colour was nicely blownout and I decided to try and give it a shot. I need to work a bit on my portraiture and digital painting.
I found this really good site that you can set to show pictures of life drawing models for (x) amount of time and then the image changes automatically. Its the closest thing I have found to life drawing lately because I havent found anything in Edmonton to go to. The site is: http://pixelovely.com/tools/gesture.html
This is a tattoo design that I've been working on for a friend. The text and the flowers are part of the design, but I added a bit of a treatment to the whole thing so that it looks more fleshed out. Enjoy
